- In episode 1 a profile on Mukuro Enjo's (Hunter Pace) Deck said his "Burning Skull Head" and "Skull Flames" combo is very strong. This is removed from the dub because of the text.
- In episode 8, Hunter used this card in his Turbo Duel against Jack Atlas. He summons two copies from his hand via the effect of "Skull Conductor". This activates both copies' effects, inflicting 2000 damage to Jack(1000 damage per copy). Hunter then Tributed both copies to Summon "Skull Flame". He then uses the latter's effect to Special Summon another copy to the field. This activates its effect, inflicting 1000 damage to Jack. That copy is then destroyed by "Red Dragon Archfiend".
- In episode 17, Hunter Summons this card in his Turbo Duel against Yusei Fudo. He summons this card on the first turn of the Duel. Yusei then attacks this card with "Speed Warrior" powered up by its own effect, but Hunter activates "Zero Guard" to reduce this card's ATK to 0 until the End Phase and prevent it from being destroyed by battle. The attack continues, but this monster is not destroyed thanks to "Zero Guard", however Hunter still takes damage. Normally Hunter would lose Speed Counters when he takes about 1000 points of damage, but he then activates "Doom Accelerator" to prevent himself from losing any Speed Counters from the damage he took and increase his Speed Counters by 1 for each 500 damage he took. Since he took about 1500 points of damage, he gained 3 Speed Counters. On the End Phase, the effect of "Zero Guard" expires, returning this card's ATK to normal. Next turn, he Tributed this card and "Skull Vase" to Summon "Skull Flame". Later Hunter banishes "Skull Flame" to summon "Speed King - Skull Flame". He then used the latter's effect to inflict 400 damage to Yusei for each copy of this card he had in his Graveyard. Since he had one, "Speed King - Skull Flame" inflicted 400 damage to Yusei.
