Balfry Ginger (called Barry Ginger in the Japanese version) is a boy magician, and one of the four Semi-finalist. Roland introduces Balfry Ginger as the "master of magic cards" with a magic wand and cape. He tries to shows off by summoning a cloud of pink smoke during the introduction ceremony, but ends up coughing from his own haze. Balfry defeats Jafar Shin and Detective Paul McGregor in Rounds 1 and 2. Just as Paul claims that he is "clued in" on Balfry's strategy at the beginning of their duel at the Music Hall, Zigfried's virus messes up Kaiba Land's "unity system," causing the curtains to fall. Balfry and Paul are left to duel in the dark until the system is rectified. Zigfried Lloyd ends Balfry's winning streak in the first semi-final match in the Galaxy Theater in Round 3. Balfry is an easter egg reference of the fictional wizard "Harry Potter" with his untidy hair and big round spectacles.
